Who this is for
If you’ve ever felt trapped in a life you don’t really want because of economic reasons: in a job you can’t afford to leave, a relationship you can’t walk away from, a city you don’t want to live in, or simply a routine that no longer makes you happy, this space is for you.
Perhaps you’ve started thinking about the future and worrying about retirement, with no real plan beyond the State Pension. Or maybe you’ve thought about building something of your own, but the same things keep getting in the way: you can’t afford to risk what you have, there are barely any hours left between work and the children, or you’re convinced you need far more money to get started.
I know those barriers well. That’s why I share what I’m learning as I work towards my own financial freedom and build new sources of income: how to start small, take risks you can actually afford, and make the most of the time and resources you have today. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin, but you do need to begin if you want something to change.
I’m also building this space for my daughter. I became a mother later in life, and sometimes I worry that I may not have enough time to teach her everything I’d like to. So I want to leave some of what I’ve learnt, and what I’m still learning, here for her too. Leaving her money would be wonderful, of course, but I believe leaving her knowledge matters even more: teaching her how to create her own opportunities, stand on her own two feet and never have to stay in a situation she doesn’t want simply because she can’t afford to leave.
And along the way, I want to find out just how much a life can change when you stay curious, keep learning and create your own options rather than waiting for them to come along.
I don’t have a magic formula. I share what I learn, what I try, what works and what doesn’t, as I build a life with more options, more freedom and more purpose.
