My plan is to make work an option. Where are you?
I’d been on this road for a while, with steps skipped and everything spread across a dozen spreadsheets. This website is how I’m putting it in order. Pick the step you’re on.

What started to change it was running the numbers
Whatever you call it, early retirement, independence or simply peace of mind, I’m on that road. For years I have depended on a single source of income, first a salary, then one single client. One day it hit me that this is not stability, it is risk: it means you cannot afford to stop. And no motivational quote got me out of it: a spreadsheet and a plan did.
I have a daughter and I never want her to feel trapped by money. But it is not only her: I think about the people closest to me too, asking themselves the same questions I used to ask myself, without knowing who to ask. Leaving a financial cushion is fine, but teaching people to create opportunities, to understand the numbers and to be free, that is the real legacy.
If any of this helps you look at your numbers and decide better, it will have been worth it.
